In today's video, Richard talks through what we know and have experienced with the HMRC portal having been able to use it for 2 weeks.
While the HMRC system appears simple, the calculations behind the inputs can be quite complicated and it is key to have detailed working papers as back up before you upload your claim as the portal does not assist you in this.
You will need a HMRC login, normally used to file your PAYE returns
You can upload to cover any time frame, whether weekly to get cash in quicker or monthly to tie in with a monthly payroll
You can only upload a claim for a certain period once
Electronic upload option only available for 100+ employees
Simply enter the total pay, NI & Pension figures for the period selected and enter the names and NI numbers of each employee
Payments are sent within 6 working days
